Entrecard: A new blog promotion site

I discovered a new blog promotion site called Entrecard, the scheme is so simple, once you sign-up, a code or a sidebar widget will be provided & to be displayed in your blogs sidebar. From then on, you can earn points easily.

To earn points, you must visit a members blog & look for the “Entrecard” displayed in his/her blog & click “Drop Yours”, you then earn a point & at the same time the blog owner will earn a point.

After earning enough points, you can now purchase advertising slot on someone else’ blog, once your request has been approved, your link will be displayed on his/her blog for a minimum of one day.

There’s no real money involved here, the points earned can only be use to “buy” links. Isn’t it a good way of promoting your site?

I found your site through EntreCard (you had dropped your card on my site). It seems like an interesting service, although it would be easy to get caught up in just dropping cards on every blog you can find. Even after just two days my blog has had plenty of EntreCard visitors, but few of them clicked any links - they dropped cards and left. So more traffic, but no real benefit.

Still, I hope some of them subscribe. I’m subscribing to your blog because I’ll be living in the Philippines for most of next year and am keeping an eye on Pinoy blogs for travel ideas etc.

I forgot to say that obviously the other aspect of Entrecard is being able to place ads on other people’s blogs. I haven’t done that yet but will try it out soon.
